Elisabeth Turmo is a Norwegian violinist who recently graduated from the Royal College of Music in London, where she did a Master in Performance. She is known for her stage presence, singing tone quality as well as the stormful temperament of a Northern Norwegian.

She received a 2nd prize at the Grand Virtuoso International Competition and a 1st prize at the Norwegian National Youth Competition. Elisabeth was appointed as the artistic director of the Timani Chamber Orchestra in 2018-2019, and is due to release a CD in 2021.

Elisabeth has performed as a soloist with numerous ensembles, such as the Arctic Philharmonic, Oslo Chamber Orchestra, Barratt Due Symphony Orchestra, Toppen International Festival Orchestra.

She completed her Bachelor studies at Barratt Due Institute of Music with professor Detlef Hahn. Elisabeth started learning the violin when she was seven years old with Trond Wika. At the age of 12 Elisabeth became one of the youngest students ever to be admitted to the Young Talents Program at the conservatory in Trondheim where she studied with professor Bjarne Fiskum.

Elisabeth also plays the Norwegian National Instrument, the Harding Fiddle, and was studying with Arne Viken.

Elisabeth has also recently performed as a soloist in venues such as St James`s Piccadilly, Dulwich Picture Gallery, St Mary’s Perivale, Regent Hall, St Martin in the fields, Victoria&Albert Museum (London), Palazzo Giuliari (Italy), Stormen Concert House (Bodø), and the Norwegian Opera House.
